What's new? (Nov. 2023)

Starting on November 20, 2023, we will be rolling out a series of updates to Coffee Meets Bagel to help serious relationship-seekers meet someone special faster. (Already, in just the first two weeks of using the new CMB, daters are seeing a 19% increase in their number of connections!)

These updates will be released gradually, so some users may see them sooner than others. However, everyone will have the new experience by January 2024.

Updates to CMB Basic

🌸 Send flowers to anyone, anywhere

Flowers are the new way to let someone know you really like them. When you send flowers, your match will be notified right away, and your profile will be shown at the top of Likes You with a virtual bouquet.

               

Discover Likes have been completely replaced by flowers, which means any time you express interest in Discover you’ll be getting a little extra value. You can also upgrade your like to flowers in Suggested.

              

If you have any unused Discover Likes in your Wallet, they’ll be converted to flowers starting November 20. Additional flowers are available for purchase with beans — or you can get 8 free flowers a month with Premium.

👀 View and match with anyone who sends you flowers — free!

Previously, some people saw a limited number of likes a day in Likes You for free, even if they weren't a Premium Member. Going forward, only people who send flowers will be shown unblurred for people who aren't Premium. That means people who send flowers are guaranteed to get seen first (and you can match with them for free!) To unblur all your likes, consider upgrading to Premium. 

🛠️ We’re phasing out a few less popular features

To make room for better features we’re retiring Instant Likes, Skip the Line, and the ability to send a message with your like. We know that some of you may be disappointed by this news, but we believe these changes will make the app better for everyone. We’re committed to working on improved versions of these features in the near future.

Updates to CMB Subscriptions

🎉 Premium Members get Unlimited Suggested

As a Premium Member, you can now like and pass on as many profiles in Suggested as you want. Suggestions are curated just for you based on your preferences, people you’ve liked and passed on in the past, and more. So you can spend less time swiping, and more time connecting with people your type.

If you run out of suggestions, we’ll keep looking for people your type. Check back next noon to potentially see more people.

Note: A small group of people may have received this benefit as part of an experiment in their Mini Subscription. Starting November 20, Unlimited Suggested will be a Premium-only benefit.

🙌 8 Discover Likes a month → 8 flowers a month

Since we’ve retired Discover Likes in favor of flowers — the new way to stand out and get seen sooner — Premium Members will receive 8 flowers a month instead of 8 Discover Likes a month. Flowers can be used in both Suggested and Discover.

Some people may have been receiving 8 Instant Likes a month instead of Discover Likes. Those, too, will be replaced with flowers. Any unused Discover Likes or Instant Likes will automatically be converted to flowers starting November 20.

🏗 Additional adjustments to subscription benefits

Now that you can send flowers to anyone you want, it no longer makes sense to support the Unlimited Skip the Line benefit.

Additionally, we've made Boost more effective than ever. This means you're more likely to be seen by the people you're interested in and get more matches. As a result, starting November 20 subscribers will receive one highly impactful Boost a month instead of 3.
