At Coffee Meets Bagel, providing a secure and inclusive environment for the CMB Community has always been our top priority. As we're always evolving to ensure the well-being of our daters, we embrace the Digital Services Act (DSA) as an opportunity to continue that commitment to your safety.
What is the Digital Services Act?
The DSA is a legal framework for providers of digital services in the European Union (EU) that intends to establish consistent rules across EU Member States. The DSA signifies a positive step toward a more trustworthy online environment, benefiting our daters through increased transparency and enhanced platform accountability.
Single point of contact
We're committed to aligning with the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) to promote transparent and seamless communication channels. As mandated, we've designated a single point of contact to facilitate direct communication with users in the EU, as well as with the European Commission, EU Member States’ authorities, and the European Board for Digital Services regarding DSA applications.
For any questions about the EU Digital Services Act related to Coffee Meets Bagel, please reach out to our designated point of contact at dsa-poc@coffeemeetsbagel.com. We support communication in English but can accommodate other languages if necessary. Your input is highly valued as we work together to maintain a secure and compliant digital space.
Reporting illegal content
If you encounter any content on CMB that you suspect may be illegal in the European Union or violates our Community Guidelines, we urge you to use our in-platform reporting features. This direct reporting method ensures that our team can swiftly and efficiently review the material.
Your prompt reporting of any potentially infringing content is crucial in preserving the integrity of our community and upholding the principles of a safe and welcoming online environment.
You can take the following steps to report it:
- Select the Profile
- Select Report them to initiate the reporting process.
- Select Illegal Content
- Select Report them button
Disputes about decisions on your content and account
We're constantly working to maintain a safe and respectful space for our daters. However, we understand that occasionally errors can occur in our moderation decisions. Therefore, we offer an appeals process for users who believe an action taken on their account or content was incorrect.
To submit your appeal, you must use the form I want to appeal a decision on my profile or content. Appeals sent through other methods will not be considered. When submitting your appeal, please provide a brief statement explaining why you believe the ban was a mistake. Be sure to include your CMB account details, as our team may need to follow up accordingly.
Please note the following:
- You can only appeal a ban once.
- You have up to six months after the action was taken on your account to submit an appeal.
- Only the account owner can submit an appeal for their account. Inquiries on behalf of others will not be addressed.
While our goal is to resolve issues swiftly, please know that reinstatement of accounts isn't guaranteed. If your appeal is successful, we'll send you an email confirming the outcome and reinstate your account. If your appeal is denied, we'll also notify you via email.
Also, please be aware that while we strive to provide transparency, we may not always disclose the complete reason for a ban. This safeguards the privacy and safety of our users, particularly those who have reported an account. Therefore, we refrain from sharing details of reports concerning private messages, offline incidents, or any information that could identify the reporter.
Finally, EU residents can engage with certified out-of-court dispute settlement bodies for dispute resolution. These bodies can assist in resolving disputes with us concerning actions on your account or reported content, even if you disagree with the outcome of an appeal. The European Commission maintains a website listing certified settlement bodies. It's important to note that decisions by these dispute settlement bodies are not binding on you or Coffee Meets Bagel.
