Coffee Meets Bagel is a safe space where our members can be vulnerable and find authentic connections. To protect our community’s safety and privacy, we ask everyone to follow these guidelines and our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
For detailed information about our safety practices, reporting procedures, enforcement framework, and resources available to Colorado members, please review our Safety Policy.
If you are a victim of nonconsensual intimate imagery or digital forgeries (deepfakes) on our platform, or are an authorized representative of a victim, please submit an emergency request directly through our form.
Daters who don’t adhere to these guidelines their accounts could be permanently removed.
Respect all CMB Daters
We welcome everyone to our diverse CMB Community, where daters may have different backgrounds, beliefs, and interests, but should always feel safe to be who they are. Remember to be respectful, honest, and kind. This includes being open, communicative, and showing up when you say that you will. (No ghosting!)
We have a zero-tolerance policy regarding abusive behavior and hate speech towards members and CMB employees. If you encounter a member not following these guidelines, we ask that you report them as soon as possible.
Abusive behavior includes bullying, harassment, sending unsolicited sexual content, stalking, threats, and intimidation.
Hate speech includes content that condones racism, bigotry, hatred, or violence against others based on religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disability, or other protected characteristics.
Photo guidelines
At least one photo must clearly show your face. Profiles without any photos showing your face will not be approved. Plus, the more photos you have with yourself in them, the more success you might have. (A warm smile is a bonus!)
Photos must:
Be photos you own or have the right to use
Accurately represent you
Comply with our Community Guidelines
Photos may not include:
Pornographic or sexually explicit images
Nudity or photos in underwear
Graphic or gory content
Illegal activity (including drug use)
Guns or weapons displayed in a threatening manner
Children on their own (they must be accompanied by an adult and fully clothed)
Personal information like phone numbers, emails, or addresses
Impersonation or misleading images
- No AI-generated, altered, or deepfake images to represent yourself; your photos must reflect your real, unaltered appearance.
If you do not follow the photo guidelines, your account will not be approved or may be removed.
Be yourself
Daters want to see the real you, so don’t pretend you’re someone you’re not. Be honest with your profile details and only use pictures that you own.
Do not:
Create fake or multiple accounts
Continuously delete and recreate accounts to bypass restrictions
Impersonate others
Use trademarked or fictional identities
Lie about your age
Misrepresent your relationship status
Mislead others about your identity
If you mistype your age when setting up your profile, we may correct it once upon request.
If we suspect an account is fake, high-risk, or misrepresenting identity or age, we may require identity verification. Accounts that cannot verify identity or age may be suspended or permanently removed.
Don’t use AI or deepfake content to mislead others about your identity. This includes profile photos, videos, or other media that distort or fabricate your appearance. Daters come to CMB for authentic connections, and trust starts with being real.
If you’re using the platform while in a committed relationship without your partner’s knowledge or consent, you may be permanently removed.
Be on your best behavior
You should behave the same way on a video or online chat as you would in real life. If you wouldn’t say something to a friend or colleague in person, don’t say it to someone on CMB. Everyone should be treated with respect.
No unsolicited sexual content.
No harassment.
No hate speech.
No abusive behavior.
We encourage you to take the time to learn more about your bagels, and send thoughtful and appropriate messages. Instead of re-using the same opener, try sending a relevant and unique message – it’ll make for a more genuine conversation!
